Pastor Ernie was born and raised on Kaua’i. He graduated from Azusa Pacific University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies. Over a ten year span, Ernie has ministered to the people of Kaua'i in various pastoral roles at Koloa Missionary Church, Lihue Missionary Church, and Grace Community Missionary Church. In 2021, Ernie married Aubrey Anne, the love of his life, and is excited to live life with her and to pastor the people of Koloa Missionary. He hopes to see the community transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Wendy Casillas, Children's Director at Koloa Missionary Church, combines her love for teaching and faith to nurture the spiritual growth of the church’s youngest members. A full-time teacher at Kalaheo School and Kauai Girl, Wendy holds two Master’s one in Organizational Management and another in Elementary Education. Her leadership, passion, and dedication create a Christ-centered environment where children thrive. In her free time, she enjoys Kauai’s beauty, community connections, and family moments.

The administrative staff manages the church operations, communications, information technology, bookkeeping, property management, and general administration.

The board and elders of Koloa Missionary Church prayerfully provide spiritual guidance and church operations. The elders are Pastor Ernie Johnston, Dan Miyamoto, and Luke Nakatsukasa. Board Members include Pastor Ernie Johnston, Candace Tabuchi, Dan Miyamoto, Eric Regensberg, Kelliann Rita and, Rob Lansdell.

I am passionate about walking alongside others in their faith journey and helping them grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. Through prayer and reflection, I have felt a clear calling to invest in our youth, equipping them along with myself, biblical truth and knowledge for everyday discipleship. My heart is to multiply disciples who will, in turn, go out and make disciples of their own, fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation.
